Being built with living stones

A House Church

When the early church began, the disciples met from house to house, with gladness of heart, following the teaching of the apostles, continuing in prayer the grace of God being with them. So we too have been led to conduct our meetings in our house, using this available resource to further the cause of Christ in our locality.

Our locality is pre-dominantly non-Christian and seemingly closed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Yet, the father has drawn people from different parts of this country, to this house church to hear and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. With the result that people who speak Marathi, or Hindi, or Konkani, or English, or Telugu and Gujarati have believed on the name of the son of God and are saved.

We are only doing what the Lord commands us. He commands us to go and make disciples, to love the ones He has brought our way with His love, to sow the word in their hearts, believing that He is working to will and to do according to His good pleasure. Growth has come through back-slidders being restored, former Hindu, Buddhist, Roman Catholic, Protestant people accepting Christ and being baptised in the name of the father, and of the son and of the holy Spirit. We have focused on winning those who have not known the savior, rather than have transfer growth. God has given us people from Maharashtra, Uttar pradesh, Goa, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Mangalore and Nepal.

Once a week we encourage members to spend time in intercessory prayer for other members of the body, requests that have been sent in, for the nation of Israel and our own locality and country. Making a habit of prayer is not easy with such a stressful life in the city of Mumbai, at this end time hour. But we are commanded to pray and we cannot make excuses!

Our Sunday meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. in Hindi. Beginning with a time of worship through song and music, we continue into a time of sharing testimonies, then teaching and prayer for any needs of the members. We close with the benediction. Some stay on for a little chat too.

l ask you to consider supporting us in prayer and financially. Someone said "Team work makes the dream work." We can do it together in the power of the Holy Spirit and faith. The Lord will reward you. He said, "Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom."
